If you’re suffering from chronic body image issues, I can tell you 4 things about yourself:

  1. At some point along the line, something was too painful or scary for you to face or cope with safely, so your body image issues showed up to try to help you. 
  2. Underneath all your suffering about weight, body, food, exercise, or appearance there still lives a painful or scary thing— something having absolutely nothing to do with your body. 
  3. You’ve been using (or attempting to use) your body/appearance to get one or more core emotional needs met. 
  4. You have many subjective stories and limiting beliefs in your head, which feel like objective truths to you, and which assign false meaning or significance to different aspects of your body or appearance. 

 

 

 

Do you know the root cause of your
body image issues?

If you’re like my clients, you’re struggling with body anxiety, obsession, hatred, or dysmorphia.

It makes sense, right? Between diet and wellness culture, capitalism, and the colonizer patriarchy, it’s really freakin’ hard to have a positive, or even neutral, relationship with your body.

Unfortunately though, the mainstream conversation about how to stop hating your body doesn’t go deep enough to address the root cause of your suffering, your unmet emotional needs, or what’s actually going on during a bad body image day. 

As such, it tends to be… well, basically useless.

In over a decade of working with people on their relationships with their bodies, I’ve learned how to go way below the surface—  to identify and address the root causes and core unmet needs—  for why a person’s body image issues have the power to ruin their day, week, or life.   

As it turns out, once you identify root causes and unmet need, there are some incredibly predictable patterns for which kind of person suffers in which way, and what skills and practices will help them actually break free from body negativity.

I organized my findings about those patterns into the 4 Body Image Avatars a system for understanding and overcoming your specific body image issues.

This course offers an in-depth education on the the avatars, help identifying and understanding your specific root causes and unmet needs, and support as you workshop and implement the skills and practices necessary for you to move toward body neutrality.

The Avatars Project Is For You If:

  • You don’t get know what the root causes of your own body image issues are, or what emotional needs you’ve been trying to meet by looking a certain way.

How It Works:

→We’ll have 8 group calls over 8 weeks, each one 90-120 minutes long. The first part of the calls will be mostly education, as I unpack the week’s content with you, and the second part will be mostly integration, where you can ask questions, we’ll take a look at specific examples and case studies, and we can workshop what comes up around the content.

→These calls will be done over Zoom but I know everyone is a bit Zoomed out right now, so while I’d love to see you there live, I’ve deliberately created this program in such a way that you do not need to be there live to take full advantage of the material. The calls will be recorded and sent out, you’ll be given an opportunity to submit questions every week, and I’ll answer them live on the call.

Week #1: Intro to the 4 Body Image Avatars
You’ll learn all about the avatars: what they are, how to use them to move toward body neutrality, and the different traits and characteristics of each. You’ll have access to my Avatars Guide, which includes a self-assessment, so you’ll get to start exploring how they relate to you!

Week #2 The Self-Objectifier
You’ll go in-depth about the Self Objectifer: the root cause of their body image issues, how it tends to manifest in an individual, and how to understand what you need if you resonate. The bulk of the material will cover what’s needed to heal from this and find body neutrality, and there will be time for questions and discussion.

Week #3: The High Achiever
You’ll go in-depth about the High Achiever: the root cause of their body image issues, how it tends to manifest in an individual, and how to understand what you need if you resonate. The bulk of the material will cover what’s needed to heal from this and find body neutrality, and there will be time for questions and discussion.

Call #4: The Outsider
You’ll go in-depth about the Outsider: the root cause of their body image issues, how it tends to manifest in an individual, and how to understand what you need if you resonate. The bulk of the material will cover what’s needed to heal from this and find body neutrality, and there will be time for questions and discussion.

Week #5: The Runner
You’ll go in-depth about the Runner: the root cause of their body image issues, how it tends to manifest in an individual, and how to understand what you need if you resonate. The bulk of the material will cover what’s needed to heal from this and find body neutrality, and there will be time for questions and discussion.

Call #6: Body Neutrality & Application
You’ll learn the key concepts of body neutrality, and both the short-term and long-term paths to getting there (using your avatars). I’ll also address some of the issues that comes up for a lot of my clients as they work with these concepts, tackle what’s feeling sticky for you, and answer questions.

Call #7: Integration & Troubleshooting
You’ll get a chance to explore how this is all landing for you, be supported in anything that still feels unclear, and either watch or participate in some hot-seat style coaching to see it all applied and workshopped in real time.

Everything Else You Need to Know:

  • The calls will be scheduled for every Tuesday at 1:30pm EST, starting on Sept 14th, 2021 and they’ll run for 90-120 minutes each.
  • This is a beta-test of the program, which means you’ll be a part of the first group to ever see this material! It also means the program cost is the lowest it’ll ever be, and that I’ll be asking for honest feedback (and testimonials if you feel so inclined!) at the end.
  • Due to writing for my new book deal, my private and group coaching are shut down until the end of the year (at least), so this is the only way to work with me in 2021!
  • The cost of the program is 3 monthly payments of $400. (Note: if you need a different payment plan feel free to reach out!)
